Bikes are a great and silent way out of dicey situations. This print is a celebration of that useful feature.
I am an artist working legally and illegally in the Twin Cities. I work in a variety of mediums, primarily screen printing and spray paint.
Creating my scene took a lot of drawing and erasing and crumpling up paper. Once I had figured out the character I had to figure out what I wanted to do for the scene. I knew I wanted to do a train scene, it was just a matter of figuring out what kinds of cars and what graffiti needed to be in the scene.
In all of my prints I sneak information into each layer thats relevant to the image. This print has old Krylon, Rustolem and Schwin ads in the white layer. The black layer has shout outs to my friends on the boxcars.
I enjoy riding my bike. It's not part of my creative process but I love being outside and seeing different areas, and a bike is a great way to do that.
