About this Poster

One of my favorite parts of cycling is just hopping on my bike and going out for a ride without a real plan or route, just cruising around exploring the neighborhood. The concept behind this print is an extension of that— your bike can take you to all kinds of new and exciting places, even if it's in your own backyard. We hope this print encourages people to get on their own bike and explore– you might be surprised by what you find.

Eat Burrito, Drink Beer, Make Art

We start off by brainstorming and sketching as many different ideas as we can, we then narrow these down to a few that we like and create a refined sketch from there. Once we settle on a concept, we begin working out the details of everything, drawing, scanning, tweaking, just generally making stuff. At this point we might take a break and eat a burrito or drink a beer (usually both!). Once the artwork is finalized we screenprint it one layer at a time onto the fanciest paper we can find.

Bikes Beat Blocks

I'm a pretty avid cyclist and try to get on the bike as often as I can. When I was younger I spent a ton of time traveling around the southeast riding in alley cat races and was introduced to the incredible cycling community through that. Now I just ride for fun and exercise. Cycling is definitely a great way to clear your head and overcome those creative blocks that everybody gets.

Color Theory in Action

The coolest thing about our poster is the way the transparent links overlap to create all kinds of different colors. Color theory in action!
