Cargo bikes were so neat, practical, and mainly, very interestingly shaped. I thought this style bike would be an cool and different avenue to follow.
I'm an illustrator and Senior Designer at Duffy. When I'm not working hard on a design challenge, I love to read, go on long walks with my husband and our dog, and work towards making our new house a home.
I always start by sketching quick thumbnails in my sketchbook. From there, I'll start full-size sketches on a larger sheet of paper, and typically go through way too much tracing paper to get the image looking just right. I'll bring the final sketch into Photoshop to create the final artwork with my Wacom.
My bike is a junky road bike that my cousin helped me build out of One On One's basement junkyard parts in college. The week I met my future husband, we were chatting and realized that he had the "male" counterpart to my Schwinn. Both our bikes are the same exact red, both say Schwinn in the same style font, just his has the high bar frame and mine the low bar. Needless to say, we took it as a good sign.
Really, I think the coolest part of the experience was the making of the poster. How much fun I had drawing the illustration, and seeing the artwork come to life when we printed them.
