There is nothing better than a good meal after a long ride, and the best meal is sushi.
I'm a designer and educator from Minnesota. I love making bright, colorful work that makes people smile. Lately, I'm also slightly obsessed with making laser-cut paper designs.
The soy-sauce-spill bike frame was particularly tricky because I like to illustrate really precisely and mathematically and liquid does not behave that way. I eventually printed out an outline of a bike frame, placed a piece of glass on top, and then "drew" the frame out of soy sauce loaded into a syringe. It was strange but it helped get the right look.
I love the little see creature details on the rim of my main plate. My printer, Erik Hamline at Steady Print Shop Co., is amazing and he lets me print these tiny hairline details that are a nice surprise when you are looking at the poster up close.
I started riding bikes to hang out with my dad. My favorite bike memories are riding park trails in the fall and just talking about everything and anything.
