This picture was drawn during a period of anger and frustration while sitting in a warehouse in Austin, Texas, as I was unable to get a particular iced coffee drink due to inefficiencies in my space-time situation.
I have been making concert posters and other screen prints in and around Chicago since 1995. I have made several previous prints for ARTCRANK.
This is the only print in the ARTCRANK catalog which contains exactly ten fish AND a travel coffee mug. Check the back catalog and you'll see that I'm right.
Riding complements all my productive processes as the counterpoint to having to actively work on ideas. Riding engages enough of my brain that I can't actively work on anything else (which is even better than laying in bed or specifically trying to relax). My disengaged, post-biking brain will usually have an easier time of sorting out whatever ideas need sorting out.
I have become aware of the constant barrage of absurd activities and situations into which we insert ourselves each day. Consider how our day looks to an unfamiliar viewer when we try to cook dinner with children in the room or try to work at our jobs when animals are around or try to get from Point A to Point B with a full cup of coffee and an expensive piece of electronic gear in the same hand. Every moment is comedy.
Or a show. Or anything else about ARTCRANK. Sign up for our email update for all the latest.
