I've long been a fan of raccoons and our recent St. Paul hero just made me love them more; they've shown up in two of my prints this summer.
I work as both a designer and an illustrator, but my personal projects usually feature a lot of intricate illustration. I tend to include subjects I personally love and represent them as cherished and intelligent, and I often include some subversive humor.
1. Always lock up your bike. 2. Don't underestimate or disrespect raccoons.
I appreciate aesthetic expression and there are so many different styles of bikes. They're all so personal and unique to their owners and I love seeing how people choose to display their bikes.
I'm a Muslim, and one of the most well-known sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is, "Tie your camel and trust in God." It's about doing the work you are responsible for, and letting go of the rest, the things you can't control. I have to refer to this one daily, and it's a huge source of comfort.
