I was inspired by speed and girls that are sexy and have a lot of attitude.Note: This poster is a first edition print from our 2011 Interbike show.
I’m a freelance illustrator living in Santa Catarina, Brazil. I have worked with advertising art direction for over 12 years and with freelance illustration for 6 years. In 2015, I made the switch to become a full time artist. Last year I was recognized by the Society of Illustrators NY and AI-AP - Latin America. My work is influenced by pop art, games, family, and friends.
I wanted to create a poster that would show a urban scenery and a girl that is full of attitude but also has a fun side with her cute helmet. I've first sketched the idea with pencil on paper and then made the composition digitally. After this, all the colors were prepared for screen printing. All the printing process was made by the guys of Azteca Screen Printing in the beautiful city of Curitiba, Brazil.
On her right arm there is a crucifix and below it the word "Santificado," that means "Hallowed." It was a way I found to thank God for the inspiration and the final result of the poster.
I'm a casual biker but I'm trying to use it more and more. When I used to live in Curitiba it was dangerous because the city didn't think about bicycles, only cars (fortunately it is changing since last year). Now that I'm living in a smaller city that has a slower pace and better life, I'm trying to ride more and more.
